Why TUNA rides?

Chris Scarlett of Rototuna High School came up with the idea and so the first edition of Wheels Along WAIKATO will feature two 'TUNA' fun rides.

Based in a park named Korikori in Rototuna, meant there just had to be another ride, the park's name 'Korikori' means 'wriggle' and refers to the wriggling of the tuna (eels) of the area, which was previously a lake, swamp and wetlands. 'TINY TUNA' will be a wriggly trail for toddlers and the very young to have a go within the actual market day.

Starting from Korikori Park in Rototuna, the 40km BIG TUNA fun ride takes cyclists out to The Point, Ngaruawahia before returning back  along the Te Awa River Trail to Rototuna.

Also starting from Korikori Park, Rototuna, ROUND TUNA is a 10km fun ride that takes cyclists down to the Waikato River before returning to the finish back at Korikori Park.
